Newcastle Train Station was built in 1858 opening up access to and from Newcastle like never before! The first station was a small brick building with a single platform, however as Newcastle grew the original station became inadequate and a new two storey building was built. The line closed in 2012 to the end of the line at Newcastle resulting in the closure of the Wickham, Civic and Newcastle stations! Today the former Newcastle Train Station as known as The Station and is used for community events.
